Applications Due:  Friday, September 17, 2017
Selection Announced:  Friday, September 25, 2017
Conference Dates:  Wednesday – Saturday, October 11 – 14, 2017


  • To support minority emerging professionals in our community and further the conversation regarding equity in our profession, AIA Arizona is offering a grant for one AIA10, Associate, or AIAS member registrant to attend the National Organization of Minority Architects (NOMA) 45th Annual International Conference & Exposition.
  • This grant will cover up to $2,000 (maximum) to be used by the one selected individual towards NOMA’s 45th Annual International Conference & Exposition registration fees, airfare, rental car/ground transportation, and hotel expenses. Expenses will be reimbursed once reporting activities are complete and receipts are received by AIA Arizona.
  • The conference will take place in Houston, Texas on October 11-14, 2017
  • Applications due September 17, 2017 (see Submission Requirements below)
  • Submissions will be reviewed by a jury of AIA members and a selection will be announced by September 25, 2017

  • AIA Arizona members in good standing who have:

a) held Architect registration for less than ten years from the date of the submission deadline of September 17, 2017
b) are an associate-level member or
c) an AIAS student member at Taliesin, ASU or UofA (September 17, 2017)

  • For those that do not meet the eligibility requirements, please encourage the AIA10, Associate, or AIAS members in your firm/circle of friends to apply!

Application/Submission Requirements

  • Full Name
  • AIA Member Number
  • Architect Registration Number, state, and date of first registration
  • Please describe your personal and professional background (200 word limit for this section)
  • Please explain the professional benefits you hope to gain by attending the NOMA International Conference & Exposition (200 word limit for this explanation)
  • Please describe how you will report/share your experience (the reporting requirement referenced above) at the NOMA International Conference & Exposition to the AIA Arizona Board and membership as a whole; either while in attendance or upon your return to Arizona (200 word limit for this plan/description)
  • All of the above information must be e-mailed in a single PDF file not exceeding 5mb in size to Mike Anglin, AIA by 11:59pm MST on September 17, 2017.
