Join us for a CE Opportunity presented by AIA Arizona:
Principles and Design Considerations for Pneumatic Transport Technologies for Hospitals

This course will provide architects and facility planners with an overview of pneumatic transport systems commonly used in healthcare facilities. Attendees will gain an understanding of how these systems are used, including components, installation methods and key requirements to enable planners to assist their healthcare clients. Two primary systems will be examined – pneumatic systems for transporting waste, recycling and soiled linen within hospitals as well as pneumatic tube systems used for sending laboratory specimens, blood products, medications and other unit load materials within hospitals.

This course will provide architects alternative pneumatic tube system design configurations, including pass thru design which saves piping, improves efficiency and trims installation expense. New technologies and installation components will be discussed. Attendees will also learn how pneumatic waste, recycling and soiled linen systems offer facilities improved cleanliness, costs savings and more efficient space utilization over traditional methods. Attendees will understand how the need for infection control and operational cost savings and efficiency are drivers for these pneumatic waste, recycling and soiled linen solutions.
