The Really Big Show!
Kevin Morrow Headshot
AIA Arizona’s annual State Conference was held on August 19th at the Sheraton Wild Horse Pass conference center. The general consensus is that the day was a real success. Kudos to the State Conference Committee, led by our President- Elect Joe Worrall,  AIA.
I believe the success was driven by the theme “The Road Ahead,” addressing our futures in the profession. The theme was further reinforced by a diverse group of presentations that demonstrated collaboration among our membership and between our design schools.

Other indicators of the conferences’ success include the attendance of over 200 participants that helped AIA Arizona to meet its sponsorship goals, and a huge trade show by The Reference Library.

Lastly, for me, the success can be found among the non-tangibles of the idea exchange and friendship building that a State Conference provided.

I’m already looking forward to next year’s Really Big Show, and if you want to come to the “Really, Really Big Show,” the Western Mountain Region Conference is around the corner (October 8-9) in Deer Valley, Utah. Don’t miss the early bird rate (deadline September 20). Register here.

Thanks for the opportunity!

Kevin Morrow, AIA
2010 AIA Arizona President
