Just the Facts, Please… AUG | 25 | 2010
Dear Alexandra,

I want to take this opportunity to thank all of the sponsors for the State Conference, which was last week. We couldn’t have done it without you. I also want to thank all of you that attended.

I have noticed some comments on the evaluation forms that I would like to address. Many of you would like to see this conference held in a more central location, possibly along the light rail, and I wanted to remind you that this is a statewide conference with many members attending from Tucson. Each year I try to pick a location that has easy access from I-10 to be considerate of those making the long trek to the Phoenix Metro area.

Many of you have also requested that the time for the Tradeshow be reduced or have the Tradehow after the keynote speaker. It is difficult to reduce the time for the Tradeshow  because The Reference Library sells that space to the exhibitors and they want plenty of time to chat with all of you. If we did the Tradeshow after the Keynote Speaker, many of you would not enter the Tradeshow and then it is not beneficial for the exhibitors. The revenue from the Tradeshow, along with the sponsorships, helps to reduce the  registration fee that you pay to attend. The Conference Committee will discuss this further at the wrap-up meeting and see what we can do.

Again, thank you for taking the time to speak and/or attend the 2010 State Conference.

Don’t forget the 2010 AIA Arizona Awards Gala is Saturday, September 25th at the Phoenix Art Museum. Watch for your invitation, as they are being mailed this week, or register now by clicking here.
