Congratulations again to James Abell, FAIA for receiving the Edward C. Kemper Award at the AIA Convention in Miami.

The Award was bestowed on James for a rewarding career that has been spent offering the public all the community design solutions the AIA has to offer through its Regional and Urban Design Assistance Teams (R/UDAT). The Kemper Award is given annually to an architect who has contributed significantly to the profession through service to the AIA.

Congratulations, James! You make us proud!!!

Demolition Plans for Soleri Amphitheater – The Santa Fe Indian School has announced that the Paolo Soleri Amphitheater is no longer of use to the school and plans to demolish the building. AIA Arizona’s mission is to promote the architectural profession through the strength and participation of members. AIA Arizona is a component of the American Institute of Architects, and was chartered on October 1, 1959. There are three chapters within our component: AIA Phoenix Metro, AIA Grand Canyon in Northern Arizona and AIA Southern Arizona in Tucson. We have just over 1,500 members statewide. APS Workshop

APS Solutions for Business Program Allies are architects, engineers, ESCO’s or contractors who provide a service or equipment related to energy efficiency.  They have been educated on the Program and have agreed to follow the program’s rules and processes. Program Allies are important outreach partners. They help businesses learn about our energy efficiency programs and incentives.  Design Teams are also eligible for incentives for efficient building design.

What do Trade Allies think about the program?  An equipment supplier noted, “The APS incentives are really attractive. I can’t imagine why a business wouldn’t want to do this.”

Program Allies qualify for discounted registration fees for Solutions for Business workshops and other affiliated training courses, have access to program marketing tools, and are listed on the Program website.
