James Abell, FAIA – The National AIA Board of Directors elected James Logan Abell, FAIA, as the 2010 recipient of the Edward C. Kemper Award. Named in honor of the AIA’s first executive director, the award recognizes individuals who contribute significantly to the profession of architecture through service to the Institute. AIA Arizona is a component of the American Institute of Architects, and was chartered on October 1, 1959. There are three chapters within our component: AIA Phoenix Metro, AIA Grand Canyon in Northern Arizona and AIA Southern Arizona in Tucson. We have just over 1,500 members statewide.
